MARION, Ohio-Downtown Marion heads into the weekend with history, live music, karaoke, brunch, trains, games and a few ways to keep the kids moving before school starts. Here’s what’s happening downtown from Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Friday, August 14
9:00 AM – Weekend Fun at The Explore-It-Torium – The Explore-It-Torium – 244 S. Main St., Marion – The children’s museum is open Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is $6 per person for ages 1 and older.
12:00 PM – Florence Harding’s 166th Annual Birthday Tea – Warren G. Harding Presidential Library & Museum – 380 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion – Celebrate Florence Harding’s 166th birthday with a multi-course luncheon tea and a special program about the Hardings’ collection of Italian marble statuary. Cost is $40 for general admission and $35 for members.
7:00 PM – Karaoke Night with DJ KOV – Kin & Kilt – 130 S. Prospect St., Marion – DJ KOV hosts karaoke from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight.
7:00 PM – Live Jazz Music with The Ivan Murray Quartet – Shovel City Drinkery – 181 N. Main St., Marion – The Ivan Murray Quartet brings live jazz to Shovel City, with Steak-N-It Smash Burgers and More serving from 5 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, August 15
10:00 AM – Everett’s 22nd Annual Train Show and Swap Meet – Marion Union Station – 532 W. Center St., Marion – Everett’s Train Show and Swap Meet features train and craft vendors, train watching, open areas at the station, AC Tower and the Marion Model Railroad Club. Admission is free, with donations accepted.
10:00 AM – BRUNCH, PLEASE! A Mimosa-Fueled Throwback Sing-Along – Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen – 320 W. Center St., Marion – The sing-along brunch returns with mimosas, food, throwback songs and a room full of voices belting out the songs people know by heart. This date is listed as sold out.
12:00 PM – Back to School Bash – MaxAiir Inflatapark – 190 W. Center St., Marion – MaxAiir hosts a Back to School Bash from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is $25 and includes one hour of jump time, a snack, a drink and a commemorative back-to-school digital photo.
7:30 PM – Queen of Hearts – Kin & Kilt – 130 S. Prospect St., Marion – Kin & Kilt’s weekly Queen of Hearts drawing continues Saturday night. Grab your tickets, try your luck and see if the crown is hiding on your card.
8:00 PM – Karaoke Night – Fable Bar & Co. – 119 W. Huber St., Marion – Fable hosts free-entry karaoke from 8 to 11 p.m., with self-serve popcorn, drink deals and a free “Liquid Courage” shot for anyone who sings.
Sunday, August 16
10:00 AM – BRUNCH, PLEASE! A Mimosa-Fueled Throwback Sing-Along – Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen – 320 W. Center St., Marion – Bucci’s keeps the weekend going with another round of its sing-along brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
1:00 PM – Sunday Funday Patio Party with Live Music from PJ Titus – Shovel City Drinkery – 181 N. Main St., Marion – PJ Titus performs on the patio from 1 to 4 p.m., with Willie’s Wieners serving from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Shovel City will also have $5 craft drafts all day.
