As Memorial Day weekend approaches, Downtown Marion, Inc. is recognizing several organizations, families, and individuals whose support continues to make a meaningful impact in Downtown Marion.

In 2025, Downtown Marion, Inc. was honored to receive several Donor Advised Grants through the Marion Community Foundation. These grants included support from the Lois & Nicholas Fisher Family Fund, the Karen L. Baney Community Fund, and the Matt & Christine McCoy Fund.

Thanks to this generous support, Downtown Marion, Inc. was able to purchase new lamp post flag poles, American flags, and America 250 flags that now line downtown streets.

These additions help beautify Downtown Marion while also showcasing community pride and patriotism as the nation prepares to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

Downtown Marion, Inc. is grateful to the Marion Community Foundation, the donor advised fund holders, and the families behind these funds for believing in the continued revitalization and enhancement of Downtown Marion. Community partnerships like these help support ongoing efforts to make downtown a vibrant and welcoming destination for residents and visitors.

Downtown Marion, Inc. also extends a special thank you to Erik Hipsher with the City of Marion Streets Department for his continued partnership and assistance with hanging the flags throughout downtown. His support and willingness to help are deeply appreciated.

As the community heads into Memorial Day weekend, Downtown Marion, Inc. encourages everyone to take a moment to remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
