DOWNTOWN MARION — Ready to amp up your weekend? Downtown Marion is the place to be August 7 through 9. Whether you're chasing live music, lingering over brunch, or diving into a little friendly competition, the heart of the city is buzzing with energy all weekend long. Grab your crew, hit the streets, and make the most of it—here's everything happening downtown.



Friday, August 7


6:00 PM – Music on the Mez with Katie & Friends – The Remnant – 187 W. Center St., Marion – Katie & Friends perform live on the mezzanine at The Remnant. Free.


6:00 PM – Mah Jongg 101 – Blend of Seven Winery – 146 W. Center St., Marion – The Poppy Pair leads a beginner-friendly Mah Jongg class with step-by-step instruction, one hour of gameplay and time to practice new skills. Cost is $23 per person or $30 with a glass of wine included. Registration is requested.


7:00 PM – Live Blues with The Blue Cats – Shovel City Drinkery – 181 N. Main St., Marion – The Blue Cats bring live blues, rock and jazz to Shovel City, led by Blues Hall of Fame recording artist Rick Collura on guitar. Mad Wingz and Thingz Food Truck will be serving from 5 to 9 p.m.


Saturday, August 8


9:00 AM – Brunch at Baires – Baires Restaurant – Downtown Marion – Baires will open Saturday morning for Second Saturday brunch from 9 a.m. to noon. The restaurant is usually closed on Saturdays.


9:30 AM – Author Meet & Greet with Georg-Ann Cunningham – The Remnant – 187 W. Center St., Marion – A Second Saturday morning meet-and-greet with local children’s book author Georg-Ann Cunningham takes place at The Remnant as part of Second Saturday.


10:00 AM – Summerail 2026 – Marion Palace Theatre – 276 W. Center St., Marion – Summerail returns to the Palace with railroad photography, multi-media presentations and a railroad show and sale. The railroad show and sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Summerail presentations continuing into the evening.


10:00 AM – BRUNCH, PLEASE! A Mimosa-Fueled Throwback Sing-Along – Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen – 320 W. Center St., Marion – The sing-along brunch returns with mimosas, food, throwback songs and a room full of voices belting out the songs people know by heart.


11:00 AM – 4th Annual POUND for Turning Point – Center Stage Dance Factory – 205 W. Center St., Marion – POUND pros from across Ohio gather for the fourth annual POUND for Turning Point event.


3:00 PM – Rally for Remembrance Cornhole Tournament and Live Music – Shovel City Drinkery – 181 N. Main St., Marion – Friends of Victim Assistance hosts a benefit event at Shovel City with a cornhole tournament and live music. 50 Steps Up performs from 7 to 11 p.m.


7:30 PM – Queen of Hearts – Kin & Kilt – 130 S. Prospect St., Marion – Kin & Kilt’s weekly Queen of Hearts drawing continues Saturday night. Grab your tickets, try your luck and see if the crown is hiding on your card.


Sunday, August 9


10:00 AM – BRUNCH, PLEASE! A Mimosa-Fueled Throwback Sing-Along – Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen – 320 W. Center St., Marion – Bucci’s keeps the weekend going with another round of its sing-along brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


1:00 PM – Sunday Funday-A Brunch Patio Party with Live Music from Quenten Veach  – Shovel City Drinkery – 181 N. Main St., Marion – Singer-songwriter Quenten Veach brings a Sunday afternoon patio set to Shovel City from 1 to 4 p.m., covering folk, Americana, rock, ’90s hits, alternative and more. Shovel City is open noon to 5 p.m., with a food truck on-site from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
