Downtown Marion Inc. is inviting individuals, organizations, and groups of friends to help bring color and energy to the heart of the city through the 2026 Adopt-A-Flowerbed Program.

Do you, your organization, or simply a group of friends have a green thumb and enjoy working outdoors? If so, this is an opportunity to put those skills on full display in beautiful Downtown Marion while helping support one of the community’s ongoing beautification efforts.

The program is currently seeking individuals, organizations, or teams to adopt flower beds throughout downtown. There are more than 35 locations of various sizes available, making it possible for both individuals and larger groups to participate. Each adopted bed helps contribute to the welcoming atmosphere that residents and visitors experience while walking, shopping, and attending events downtown.

For the 2026 season, the planting theme will be Red, White & Blue in recognition of the America 250 celebration taking place throughout 2026. The patriotic color palette will bring a unified and festive look to flower beds across the downtown district during the summer months.

Volunteers are needed to assist with planting starting the week of May 11, 2026, through Memorial Day. This timeframe allows the displays to be established as the downtown season begins and as community activity increases heading into summer.

Anyone interested in participating in the 2026 Adopt-A-Flower Bed initiative can learn more about available locations by contacting Downtown Marion’s Design Committee.

Whether you are an individual, part of an organization, or simply a group of friends looking for a way to spend time outdoors together, the Adopt-A-Flowerbed Program offers a meaningful way to contribute to the beauty and pride of Downtown Marion.
