Historic Downtown Marion was full of activity this past Thursday as Downtown Marion, Inc. kicked off the 2026 3rd Thursday season with live music, vendors, food trucks, family activities, local organizations, and a strong crowd moving through the district.

Thank you to everyone who came out, walked downtown, supported local businesses, visited vendor booths, and helped make the first 3rd Thursday of the season a success.

The evening featured the sounds of CREAM CAMINO, a four-piece alternative rock band from Columbus known regionally as “The Gentlemen of Rock.” The band brought an energetic live performance to downtown, blending original music with rock versions of popular songs and familiar covers.

Throughout the evening, visitors also found food trucks, vendors, shopping, community organizations, and activities for families. The 3rd Thursday Kids Play Zone offered bounce houses, games, slides, and activities for children from 4 to 7 p.m., giving families another reason to spend the evening downtown.

Community participation helped add even more to the night.

Marion Tallgrass Trail set up near The Brickyard on Main, Crawford-Marion ADAMH Board welcomed visitors at its booth, and the Mid-Ohio Traumatic Loss Response Team joined the event to share support and resources. Local vendors and makers also added to the downtown atmosphere, including Locust Creek Design, Quartz Creations LLC, and Valentine Polar Treats.

Henry Development Group / Main Street Reimagined also added a hands-on activity to the evening with a flower potting station. Visitors were invited to decorate a pot, choose a flower, and take home information about downtown lofts while enjoying the event. The activity gave people another way to engage with downtown and reflected the growth taking place throughout the district.

Downtown Marion, Inc. also extends a special thank you to CRT Mechanical and Self Storage for sponsoring this 3rd Thursday event. Sponsor support helps make these downtown events possible and allows DMI to continue creating community programming that brings people into the district.

The winning 50/50 raffle ticket from the evening was 612702, with a prize of $438.

The kickoff event showed what 3rd Thursday is designed to do: bring people downtown, create foot traffic, support local businesses, and give residents and visitors a reason to experience Historic Downtown Marion together.

Downtown Marion, Inc. looks forward to continuing the 2026 3rd Thursday season and welcoming the community back downtown for more live music, local activity, and summer evenings in the heart of Marion.
